About Me

Full Name

Abu-Labeeb Abdul Baṣīr Ibn Sulaiman Ibn Abdullah Ibn Muhammad Saqafi Al-Malaibari. He whispered a profound affection for the Messenger ﷺ, which led him to adopt the names “Muhammad” (محمدً), and “Abdal-Bashir” (عبدَ البَشِير) as well as the name “Abdul-Bashir.” (عبد البَشِير) Many of his acquaintances fondly referred to him as “Bashir” or “Abd al-Bashir.” Notably, his official government registrations, including his passport, list his name as “Abd al-Bashir.” However, the name his father bestowed upon him, “Abdul Baṣīr,” (عبدَ البصير) remains his most renowned name.

Parents

His father, the late Abu Muhammad Sulaiman Ibn Abdullah, had acquired foundational knowledge in various fields, progressing up to the level of Alfiya, a renowned rhymed book of Arabic grammar authored by Ibn Malik in the 13th century. However, due to life’s demands, he was unable to continue his educational pursuits. His father passed away on a Sunday night, specifically on the 25th of July 2011 (21st Rajab 1432 Hijra). May Allah elevate the status of his late father.
His mother, Ummu Muhammad Fatima bint Alavi, was equally pious and devoted.

She dedicated herself to the recitation of the Qur’an and actively participated in Dhikrs (remembrance of God), Moulid, and Jeelani Moulid, all of which she held close to her heart. She peacefully departed from this world on a Monday night, specifically on the 16th of December 2019 (16th Rabiul Akhir 1441 Hijra). May Allah raise the status of his late mother.
Upon completing his Dars studies, he sought further knowledge under the guidance of the eminent scholar Sheikh Abu-Bakr Ahmed, who held the esteemed position of the grand mufti of India. He also became a disciple at the ‘Markazu Saqafathi Sunniyya,’ a notable Islamic institution.

Sheikh Abu-Bakr Ahmed encouraged Sheikh Abdul Baṣīr Al-Malaibari to maximize his use of the Kutbkhana, a library housing a collection of Islamic classical manuscripts, within the Markaz. This space offered access to rare books and provided an environment conducive to deeper study. The guidance and warmth extended by other proficient educators also greatly enriched Abdul Baṣīr Saqafi Al-Malaibari’s pursuit of knowledge.

On June 10th, 1999 (Safar 25th, H 1420), Abdul Baṣīr Saqafi married ‘Ummu Salama,’ who is the daughter of Muhyiddin Kunji. Ummu Salama’s mother, Aisha, was the daughter of Sheikh Usman Musliyar. Notably, ‘Qutubul Alam’ CM Waliullahi Madavoor is the cousin of this ‘Usman Musliyar.’
